Mrs. Belinda Charles is a retired principal who led in both secondary school and junior college for the last 25 years of her teaching career. Her last posting was as the principal of St Andrew’s Secondary School from which she retired at the end of 2010. She was one of the youngest principals to lead a secondary school in 1986 and subsequently a junior college in 1990. Mrs. Charles has sat on several committees at education headquarters and was involved in important education review committees including Thinking Schools Learning Nation, leading to her being conferred the Silver Public Administration Medal. For ten years, Mrs. Charles was also, concurrently, an adjunct lecturer with the National Institute of Education in the 1990s, conducting modules for
