Boost your skill and decision making when developing success criteria to ensure learners

can take ownership of their learning and engage in self-monitoring, self-reflection, and self-evaluation.

Session 1

Success criteria are important in our quest to develop learners who take ownership of their learning and engage in self-monitoring, self-reflection, and self-evaluation. But the implementation of success criteria can be challenging. Join us, to find out more about how to make your success criteria even more impactful as we explore the implementation of:

  • I can/we can statements
  • Single-point rubrics
  • Analytic and Holistic rubrics
  • Teacher modelling

We will answer these questions together:

  1. Do my success criteria truly represent the learning intentions of my learners?
  2. Did I pick the best option for implementing success criteria based on the type of learning expected of my students?
  3. Am I using success criteria to support my students in taking ownership of their learning?

Leave this session with:

  • Ideas and practical examples for making success criteria even more impactful,
  • Thinking frames and strategies to determine the best option for implementing success criteria based on the type of learning expected for students,
  • An understanding of how success criteria support students’ taking ownership of their learning, and
  • Suggestions and strategies to ensure we get ALL students engaging with success criteria.
